As an American traveling to find my Greek roots, Archontariki's location in the old city of Ioannina was ideal. We booked 2 rooms, and both were beautifully appointed, with the hotel's main floor and lower level decorated as they had been when the building was a single family dwelling. It is one block from the lakefront, and walking distance from the Kastro. It is off a street with many restaurants where young people and families dine out late at night, but it is secluded on a side street/alley, so there is no noise. Breakfast is traditional, with breads, cheese, yoghurt and such, as well as custom omelettes. The people are very friendly, and its courtyard backs onto a restaurant/bistro that is owned by family members.

The staff are attentive, the breakfast is excellent. The ambiance is quiet! As for me location is best possible and quiet, close enough to the town centre and the castle, and all the restaurants and tavernas.

Friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful old house. Excellent, generous breakfast. Rundown area, but lots of local renovation underway. Central location, walking distance to major sights and best restaurants/cafes. Amazing decoration/furniture. High-quality breakfast options. Sister hotel serves luxurious breakfast with attentive staff. Boutique atmosphere with boutique design and furnishing. Difficult access by car.

I felt like a queen with the stunning lake views from the terrace, the free bike rides around town, and the convenient shuttle service. And the wax statues at the nearby museum? Truly lifelike!
Oh, how dreadful it was to have such little time to enjoy all the wonderful amenities and sights. If only I had more time on my hands!

The breakfast was great and excellent with local delicacies, with variety of fabulous options. The twin room was quiet, had an iron, an electronic key card, and coffee/tea making machines. The location was super central, right by the old castle, restaurant, bars, the old castle, museums and the ferry to the Ioannina island, and the town centre and the castle

Highly recommend this delighful new character hotel, created and run by Giorgos and his family. The style is very traditional with, in the lounge and bar area, some beautiful textiles mde by great grandmother. The bedrooms are very individual, each with different decor and fittings to suit the varied shapes of the rooms, keeping to the traditional style but with excellent bathrooms and all modern comforts. So much nicer than the standardised impersonality of a modern hotel. The family are all willing to help with advice as to where to visit, where to eat, etc. The Archontariki is in an excellent location for sight-seeing, with the lake, castle, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. There is off-road, private parking so you can forget the car unless you want to go out of town. We really found this the ideal place to stay for seeing Ioannina.
Only problem was finding the hotel the first time. When we finally stopped for directions, we were actually very close but hadn't expected it to be on such a very narrow street.

We loved the hotel's location, which was right in the centre of everything. It was just a short walk away from the historical centre and very close to the lake shore. The hotel was very clean and the facilities were great. We also enjoyed the breakfast and the friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.
Nothings.
